South Milwaukee Performing Arts Council

South Milwaukee Performing Arts Council Corporation (SMPACC) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization that supports South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center with advocacy and fundraising for scholarships, community outreach and more. (EIN 20-3124178). The Council is an all volunteer board that includes community members, teachers and business leaders who share a love of the arts and the positive impact they have in our community.

Mission Statement

Strengthen the impact of South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center by providing financial, volunteer, and advocacy support.

Vision Statement

Foster a community passion for the arts and make a lasting, positive impact in the community through performing arts experiences and education.

Council Goals

  • Continue to increase fundraising revenues by 10% annually

  • Develop and engage in new outreach opportunities to grow a stronger presence in our community. 

  • Maintain a presence at all Performing Arts Series shows and community outreach events.

  • Recruit and inspire new council members to join our board.

The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center Council is committed to diversity, equity, and justice for all. The SMPAC Council is proud to sponsor scholarships for South Milwaukee High School seniors. Since 2013-2014, they have awarded more than $20,000.

The U’Ren Family Endowment Fund

The U’Ren Family Endowment Fund was created to foster a community passion for the arts and make a lasting, positive impact in the community through performing arts experiences and education.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Connie and Jacky U’Ren, and are proud to continue their legacy. The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Council is the caretaking organization for the fund, which is managed by a certified financial advisor.

Constance "Connie" U'Ren spent 32 years at South Milwaukee High School where she taught English and Spanish. She also worked alongside the music department to direct and present the annual Spring Musical and Christmas Feaste, and is fondly remembered for her high expectations and outstanding productions. After her retirement, Connie volunteered at South Milwaukee Human Concerns, remained involved in American Field Service (AFS), served on various School District of South Milwaukee committees, and was a long-time patron and supporter of South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center. With past support from Connie, her sister Jacky and their family, SMPAC has been able to offer many outstanding programs throughout the years. Connie passed into Eternal Life in September, 2024 at the age of 93.
