Volunteers

The South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center (SMPAC) is always in need of dedicated volunteers. By becoming an SMPAC volunteer you will not only be serving a great organization, but you will also have the opportunity to interact with fellow volunteers from the community, as well as our patrons. Not only that, but any performance that you volunteer for, you will be able to enjoy for free. You will also receive a free dessert and drink from our concessions. We have a variety of opportunites for you, so come join SMPAC and help Bring Art to Life!

Opportunities

Docents ~ are responsible for greeting patrons and guiding them to their destination once they enter the school building, whether it be to the PAC, the restrooms or the elevator. Docents are stationed at Door #9, the elevator and the lobby. Docents should be friendly and outgoing.

Ticket Takers ~ stand by the PAC entrance doors and tear patrons' tickets. They also verify the patron has a valid ticket.

Ushers ~ are responsible for seating patrons before the show and latecomers. They are also responsible for preventing patrons from entering the theatre with food or drink, as well as picking up programs and litter after the show.

Ticket Seller ~ is responsible for selling tickets starting 1 hour before the performance. This requires a training session with the computer program, "FOLIO Box Office." They may also sell tickets during intermission and briefly after the show.

Will Call Attendant ~ is responsible for distributing tickets to patrons who have ordered within the week of the performance or have requested will call.

Merchandise Sellers ~ are responsible for selling the artists' and SMPAC's merchandise or concessions before the performance, during intermission and after the performance.

Daily Box Office Attendant ~ is responsible for manning the Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm. This requires a training session with the computer program, "FOLIO Box Office." Multiple volunteers may take on this task so hours may be flexible.

Daily Administrative Help ~ involves a variety of office duties depending on the volunteer's experience and comfort with projects. The majority of the work will involve such tasks as mailings and database updates.

SMPAC Street Team ~ is responsible for distributing posters and flyers at designated sites througout the surrounding communities.
